What is a “Sales Champion?”

Being in sales is a profession, and like any other, it requires years of focus and training to become great. A sales champion is one who takes their experience, training, and education, and seeks to apply it directly to their work to become a professional. They seek to get more “yeses,” not only in sales, but in all aspects of their lives.

There is a stigma revolving around sales, that it has to be a forceful high-pressure situation. How we think about something is how we perceive it to be; which means, we need to shift the view of what “sales” actually means. Let’s start with these four affirmations:

  1. Selling = service
  2. Sell from honesty, integrity, and compassion
  3. Selling is about leading
  4. Selling is about moving people to action

Stage Selling – a Series of Closes

Make sales a series of different events that are individual closes leading to a final sale.

  1. Meet someone at a networking event
  2. Exchange contact info with potential leads
  3. Contact your leads
  4. Book an initial appointment
  5. Book a follow-up appointment
  6. Start doing business together

Stay In the Conversation

When you make a connection with someone, make an effort to stay up to date with their message and your relationship with that person. Learn about their books, their websites, their courses, etc. Dig deep and keep the conversation going!

How to Improve the Closing

Practice your closing like a script. Memorize your closing message so that you don’t even have to think about it! Take away any stress or nervousness from your closings so your statements come off natural and confident.
